The Street Values program fosters empathy between users of the street with differing, and sometimes conflicting needs. This program is centred on providing tools for eliciting the needs of diverse street users, and sharing these with the community. Doing so raises awareness within communities of the opportunities at hand to change their streets for the better.
The National Street Service Cities Program is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to make streets better for their community. During the program, people look at, listen to, and observe their street; create opportunities to help others reimagine what the street is for; and collaborate on projects to make streets welcoming for everyone.
